USA! USA! USA!

The title is irrelevant to everything but the sidewalk spray-painted with USA that caused us to chant. Really, Casey and I are always looking for an excuse to chant.
Anyway.
Let's start this post off with a bit of lusting, shall we? Because we went to the mall today and I saw these fantastic smoking slippers from Steve Madden, and I'm in love, and I came close to being in debt. They're just so perfect! I saw a black studded pair that I love more than the rest, but these pictures ought to suffice.

They're just so flawless. Find them here, here, and here. Perhaps you'll have an extremely benevolent streak and gift a girl a pair and know that she will wear them for the rest of her life. Haha.
We also made friends with an adorable pug puppy. She liked to chew on the pom-poms of my skirt, but I was totally okay with it because she was just too cute, and I was too charmed to care. Apparently, I will let anything particularly adorable chew on my clothes. This is important stuff to know.
I would have bought her and named her macaroni, but I'm pretty sure my cat would eat her. My cat isn't exactly nice, and she's bigger than that dog will ever be. She's kind of a bully.

Anyway, here's what I wore today.

I Made a MOOSE-stake!

99.999% of Thursdays belong to Casey and the Boulevard. We wander around, we enjoy the farmer's market, and we make friends with the vendors. Today, it was a little too chilly to do much wandering, so we just went down to AmPm and got snacks and cocoa. Casey, of course, didn't need the extra snacks. She carries candy with her everywhere.
She's wearing vintage Docs, a thrifted leather jacket, and
corduroy jeans that I picked out at a going-out-of-business
sale. Yeah.
We later played the What's-In-My-Bag game. Since I came from school, I had a ridiculous amount of, you know, things.
The bag is O'Niell, and I got it from Ross. I think. The purplish makeup/pencil bag is from Avon from many, many years ago. My I Love Lucy wallet is from Wal-Mart, also from many years ago. There is my math notebook, my sociology notebook, and my current read (The Return of the Native), in addition to my planner, water bottle, and many schedules. Also, I have a Zune. Yup. That other stuff in the corner is hers.
After chilling in this little alcove and playing the above game and eating our food, we went into one of our favourite antique shops to look around. They have a few different rooms filled with cool stuff, and a little nook with hats and jewelry. I ended up getting two rings for less than five bucks! I'm excited about those.
I'm pretty sure this book is called Morris the Moose. And, if you can't see it, that last line is "I made a MOOSEstake!" The punny is just too much.
I just liked the bin full of toy cars.
I would have posted my outfit, but alas, I was lazy this morning and it was supremely boring.
Anyway, how was your day? Hopefully it wasn't full of rain and wind and general coldness.

New Best Friend

That's right, everyone in my life has been usurped by this gem. I'm so excited, and I really cannot hide it.

I just need the weather to be flawless again so I can wear it.

A Crown of Daisies

So today, I decided to get all kinds of crafty. I've been wanting a flower crown for a while, mostly because it would enable me to feel like I'm frolicking through meadows or something, even when I am very clearly not. I figured I would make something a little easier to pull off than the Ren-Faire-style daisy crown I already have.
Just chillin' with a barbarian. This is from two years ago.
So instead of the wreath, I used a headband. The headband was originally going to be covered (well, not covered) in big spikes, but since I couldn't find any, I decided that flowers should suffice.
Let the floral festivities commence! But first, let's get you all inspired and stuff.
Tavi Gevinson

Time to celebrate!

My best friend officially turned twenty on the 16th, and while I already got her a present, we didn't get the chance to celebrate. Today was her awesome birthday adventure. There was food (so much!), and a Friends of the Library sale, and wandering, and cupcakes with sparklers, and singing. I'd call it a success.
I don't even know how long we've been best friends for. Six years? I don't know. It's all good.
Real quick OOTD, too. We found a blue wall with some Astroturf, so I figured that that was as good a place as any for a picture.
Dress: Torrid | Sunglasses: Tilly's | Gold bangle: Claire's | Daisy necklace: Forever 21 | Bag: thrifted | Orange bracelet: gift from best friend above | Sandals: Payless
I hope everyone else had a gorgeous spring day and spent it outside!

Lust List

You know when you spend a little too much time online, and you get bored of all your favourite sites and you start window-shopping? It's simultaneously one of my favourite and least favourite things to do. I love looking at pretty things, finding cool new shoes or bags, seeing the awesome collections that your favourite sites have to offer...
Anyway, long story short, here are some things I'm listing after right now.

I have legs!

Well, yes, I clearly have legs, as you've seen in my Fa(t)shion February posts on my personal blog, but last Saturday, the weather was so lovely that I left them bare. Even though they're pale whatnot. Oh, well.
Tee-shirt: Wal-Mart | Sunglasses: Tilly's | Gold bangle: Claire's | Orange bracelet: gift from a friend | Shorts: Torrid for ten dollars! Yeah! | Bag: Mulberry for Target | Adorable denim peep-toes you can't see: Payless
Ignore the messy room and know that it's not that messy anymore. Just thought you ought to know that.
Here's hoping we get more lovely springtime weather soon! Even though it's going to rain tomorrow.
Sigh.

Egg-Laying Bunnies?

Happy Easter!
You may or may not care to know this, but I love to celebrate things. I don't care how relevant it is to me, I'm just an enthusiastic person that just so happens to be too lazy to show that too often.
Anyway.
To show my enthusiasm, I made cupcakes.
My fabulously mediocre Peeps cupcakes!
It's actually fantastically simple: Funfetti cake mix and Funfetti frosting. It's whipped vanilla, I think. Add some sprinkles (you know, the sprinkles that come with the frosting, how much effort is expected here?), put a Peep on top, and enjoy!
My mom and brother think I was "chintzy with the frosting", but I thought they turned out wonderfully. They just can't appreciate anything.
Here's hoping that you had the chance to open all your windows and enjoy some flawless spring weather!
